Good afternoon. The official death toll from Sunday’s boat disaster off the coast of Nampula province has now reached 98 (see below), and it is likely to rise once the 19 missing people are accounted for.

Renamo has decided to convene its National Council meeting for April 14, the spokesman for the National Political Commission announced this afternoon. Alfredo Magumisse explained that the meeting, to be held in Maputo city, will discuss the convening of the Renamo congress, at which the party president and presidential candidate for the 9 October elections will also be elected.
