Islamic State-backed insurgents killed five people and burned a large number of homes in two attacks in Ancuabe and Macomia districts.
The dead included the secretary of Namacuili village in Ancuabe district, where insurgents attacked on Friday afternoon, 8 May, according to residents. The village lies less than 10 km from the military base at Macarara.
