Muidumbe girls kidnapped by insurgents remain missing

Insurgents abducted a total of eight people near the village of Magaia in Muidumbe district

At least five of the six girls abducted on 11 May by insurgents in the fields near Magaia village, Muidumbe district, Cabo Delgado province, remain missing and have not returned to their families.

In total, eight people were kidnapped during the attack: six girls and two boys. One girl managed to escape and returned to alert the community. The two boys are confirmed dead, while the five remaining girls are still in insurgents’ custody, according to local sources.
