Nyusi seeks immunity in London trial

Nyusi has now instructed his own English lawyers to help him argue he should be immune from being made a party to the case between Mozambique and Privinvest

Good afternoon. On the agenda for this week is a case management conference (CMC) in London, in the hidden debts case where Mozambique is suing Privinvest, among others, over the $2bn offshore security procurement scandal.

There is still a question mark over whether the trial will go ahead as planned in October. The main sticking point is President Nyusi’s lack of cooperation in providing information to the court.
