The most recent case took place yesterday in Gorongosa, Sofala province, where at least 24 people were injured after the riot police UIR fired on a delegation from the opposition party MDM, according to the broadcaster DW. The group was leaving its district office, heading towards the official ceremonies celebrating the 60th anniversary of the town. After the demonstrators failed to obey the police instructions to stop their march, the police fired live ammunition and tear gas.
