TotalEnergies and Sumitomo withdraw from 1.5 GW Mphanda Nkuwa project

French and Japanese partners leave project but government insists it remains on track

French energy giant TotalEnergies and Japan’s Sumitomo Corporation have quit the consortium developing the 1,500 MW Mphanda Nkuwa hydropower project in Tete province, Zitamar News has learnt.
