Worker at Jindal’s coal mine killed in latest serious accident

The driver working for subcontractor Lalgy died after a truck’s brakes failed at the Chirodzi coal mine in Tete province

A worker has died at a coal mine operated by Jindal Africa, marking the third serious accident at the mine in the space of one month.

On Friday, 23 May, an employee of subcontractor Lalgy Transportes died when his dump truck’s brakes failed and rolled in to a 30-metre deep pit, at Jindal Africa’s mine at Chirodzi, in the district of Marara, in the south of Tete province.
