Good afternoon — from the first of two newsletters you will receive from Zitamar News today. In order to provide more value to our subscribers, we will from now on produce a regular Daily Briefing on Fridays, in addition to the Week in Review which will go to our whole mailing list a little later this afternoon.

This time last week we were reporting on the apparent killing of Ibn Omar, military commander of the insurgency in Cabo Delgado. We say apparently; today’s edition of Savana casts some doubt on whether the government forces really got the man they say they did, or at least cautions that it should not be taken for granted.
