Waldemar de Sousa appointment revoked in less than 24 hours amid protests that he is still facing accusations of having approved $2bn illegal state-backed borrowing

Mozambican President Daniel Francisco Chapo on Tuesday named economist Felisberto Dinis Navalha as governor of the Bank of Mozambique, reversing the appointment of Waldemar Fernando de Sousa that had been announced only the previous evening.
