One person was killed in an insurgent attack on the town of Macomia, Cabo Delgado, on Monday night, that saw insurgents also abduct a child believed to be one of their sons.
The Islamic State-backed insurgents attacked the Nanga A and Nanga B neighbourhoods around 11 p.m. on Monday. The neighbourhoods are either side of the main N380 road, just north of the town centre.
