Islamic State-linked insurgents in Cabo Delgado province yesterday claimed to have killed two members of the Local Force militia in the village of Magaia, in Muidumbe district on Sunday.
The deaths came in a battle that followed the kidnap for ransom of local villagers and the looting of food.
