Insurgents kill boy in the town of Palma

The child of a local worker has been killed and his wife abducted, in the first insurgent attack on the town since 2021

A 16-year-old boy was killed in an attack on the town of Palma in Cabo Delgado attributed to Islamic State–backed insurgents on 10 October, which would be the first incursion into Palma since the town was retaken by Mozambican security forces in March 2021. The Islamic State later claimed responsibility for the killing, saying the victim was a Christian.
