Islamic State Mozambique claims a series of attacks in Chiúre district

The attacks provide further evidence that insurgents have been moving towards the south of the province, as witnessed earlier this month

Islamic State Mozambique (ISM) has claimed responsibility for a series of attacks in Cabo Delgado province’s southern Chiúre district, targeting the villages of Chiúre-Velho and Ntonhane. They also claimed to have attacked the village of Napala elsewhere in the district as part of their advance south into Cabo Delgado province.
