As August moves on, “restart” seems like the magic word on the Afungi peninsula of Cabo Delgado province, like “Open Sesame” in the fairy tale Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves from the Thousand and One Nights. But instead of a cave, the word will open the door to restarting construction work on the $20bn-plus liquefied natural gas (LNG) project led by French energy firm TotalEnergies on the peninsula.
